DTF Transfer Application Steps

Step 1

Remove Dust

Place your garment on the heat press and remove dust or fibers with a lint roller. Pre-press briefly to smooth out wrinkles and moisture before applying your DTF transfer.

Step 2

Position DTF & Heat Press

Position your DTF transfer on the fabric, cover it with parchment paper, and press at the recommended temperature and time for your fabric type.

Step 3

Peel DTF Transfer & Finish Process

Gently peel the film while it's still warm, then press once more for a few seconds to lock in durability. This second press is what gives Profit DTF transfers their strong, long-lasting finish.

DTF Transfer Pressing Instructions

Get professional results with the right DTF transfer heat press settings. Follow our recommended temperature, pressing time, pressure, and peel instructions for long-lasting DTF transfers on different fabrics.

How to Press DTF Transfers

  1. Pre-press the garment Pre-press the garment for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture, flatten seams, and create a smooth surface for better DTF transfer adhesion.
  2. Position the DTF transfer Place the DTF transfer design against the garment with the clear film facing up. Center the transfer carefully before pressing.
  3. Press the DTF transfer Press at 290–320°F for 8–15 seconds using medium pressure of approximately 35–45 psi. Cotton garments generally require the hotter and longer end of the recommended range.
  4. Peel the DTF transfer hot Peel the film immediately after pressing using one smooth motion. For additional durability, re-press the finished DTF transfer for 5–10 seconds with a cover sheet.
